Zoology Hominids
3D Printing Hominid Skulls
3D Printing Hominid Skulls
These skulls were 3D printed for the Anthropology and Human Evolution unit of my Zoology course in Spring 2022 at Van Horn High School. The two Australopithecine skulls were printed using a conventional single nozzle printer, where the support structure is the same material as the skull and had to be removed mechanically by hand. The Homo skulls were printed on a dual nozzle Ultimaker S5. These prints were supported in part by the Harry S. Truman Memorial Scholarship, provided by the Truman Heartland Community Foundation, Independence Rotary Club, and City of Independence, MO in 2022.
